Note by Me: I don't agree with all of this article like supporting opposing trade sanctions in South Africa when they have apartheid. Apartheid is evil.

I ain't read the article yet, will, but got to give me a link to get back to it, so i remember. Justr wondered; why do you think apartheid was evil?

Not saying it wasn't, but some people say aparhteid before 1994, was evil; but aparhteid after 1994, is not evil; so I am confused; which apartheid are you referring to, and if only one; why is one evil and not the other one?

Apartheid didn't exist after 1984. Aparheid is evil since it discriminated against people based on their skin color. It caused oppression and assaults against innocent people. It created violations of individual liberty and that was why it was decried by the world including us in America. We boycotted South Africa back then until they changed their act. I will won't back down from that point.

I will respond to the nth degree on this issue.

Tim,

Do you mean apartheid didn't exist after 1994? or do you actually mean 1984?

If 1984, yes I agree.. in South Africa we are living, after 1984, in a state described by the book 1984... but anyway let me first hear your answer then you can explain to me more your thinking...

I meant that apartheid ended in the 1990's. That was my error in this conversation. It was still going on in 1984.

So, what we have in South Africa now, with reverse apartheid, does not count as apartheid, in your perspective?

Timothy said...

No,

What counts in improvements. See, reverse apartheid would equate reverse segregation, etc. That doesn't exist in South Africa now. See, some people want to diminish problems and ignore realities. The reality is that South Africa has issues that it should work out, but that doesn't mean during apartheid, South Africa was a city on a hill (or a land filled with milk and honey).

So, reverse apartheid doesn't exist in South Africa, but many problems exist there like every nation on Earth.

Reverse apartheid doesn't exist in South AFrica huh????

What do you think are the chances of a white man or woman being elected president in South AFrica?

Do you think any man or woman of honour and integrity, would be elected to the presidency in south africa, by the majority black population?

Do you think there is any place I can get a job, with my qualifications or experience; where someone far less qualified and experienced than me gets the job, simply cause they are black or brown?

That is not apartheid/discrimination?

I don't agree with white being discriminated against, but what do you think the majority of the population in S. Africa is? That answers your question. I don't recall whites being assaulted in huge levels (now on the same level blacks experienced during the period of apartheid), getting their lands stolen (centuries ago in S. Africa), haven't signs segregrating them by race (decades ago), and other evils in apartheid existing back then. So, discrimination against whites, blacks, etc. is wrong and evil. Yet, don't try to say that the apartheid system back then is better than conditions in South Africa today. That isn't reverse apartheid. You've cited examples of discrimination.

Also, plenty of blacks and other people of color are very intelligence, so the stereotypes are getting very old. I know black PhDs from Africa, so your card don't work. See, the card lifted from the deck isn't cutting it. If you are discriminated against, file a complaint and fight your battles legally without collectively blaming an ethnic group.

So, I will bring it.

I'm not naive about history, but I refuse to play the bash the people of color game.

Aparthied is more sinister and evil than discrimination. That is why we Americans sent an economic boycott in the late 1980's to South Africa until they changed their act.

Voting rights were suppressed in apartheid as well:

I come prepared. I thank you for giving me extra motivation in exposing evils in the world though.

There is no such thing as reverse discrimination or reverse apartheid as well. It's just discrimination and apartheid (which negative effected those of many races and backgrounds not just black people. People of every race oppose these 2 evils also).

I will have the final say even if it take a million comments.

Well, let me know when you are interested in hearing about all the complaints I have filed, and how many -- if any -- of them have received any meaningful or remotely concerned response.

Thanks for the concern. Sorry to have bothered you.

I feel sorry that you were discriminated against. That was wrong. I just get sometimes angered over racial issues. No society is perfect as we realize, but I don't believe in collectively blaming whites or any races for the problems in a country.

I do think that a majority black population can elect a white person or a black person as President if they have the characteristics of integrity and legitimate policies to help their fellow countrymen and countrywomen.

I do feel sorry for some of my anger in this discussion, but I don't regret my core beliefs on this issue.
